Institute of Marine Biology
was established in 1961. as University of Montenegro research
institution responsible for scientific investigation, exploitation,
control and protection of the sea. Approach to the research has an
ecological character, with special attention to the Southern Adriatic
and Boka Kotorska bay as a natural phenomenon.

ADRICOSM-STAR |
1. Institute is responsible
for WP2: "Data collection
program for model calibration/validation and monitoring
upgrades". In particular Institute will be involved to collect the
relevant data sets for model validation
and calibration in WP4 and prepare for the monitoring phase of WP3.
This work including:
- New instruments procurement
- Bathymetric survey
- Coastal area bathymetric survey near Bojana
river delta
- Boka-kotorska Bay bathymetric survey
- Oceanographic high resolution coastal area
surveys
- Seasonal surveys in Montenegro shelf area
- Mesoscale surveys in Montenegro coastal area
2. Institute will be also involved in WP1 to collect
also historical information and data:
- Physical-geographical,
- Oceanographic information,
- Water quality information for non-urban areas
information
- Sediment properties and structure information
- Marine and river biodiversity information
- Data quality control and analysis of historical
data from paper works and from available
digitized data on river basins and coastal areas about: topography,
bathymetry, geology,
vegetation, watersheds
